I marinated some chicken quarters for the afternoon.
Coated some Russet potatoes with EVOO and Kosher salt and double wrapped in HD foil.

Put about a half Weber chimney of lit briquettes on. Some pear wood. Taters on, too.
I kept the intakes fully open for the whole cook. I always keep the exhaust fully open.

After about 20 minutes, put the quarters on.

Coming off after about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

This was a delicious meal! :D

Good Stuff Mac !!!

How were the taters.....get enough time next to the coals?
I've found they'll pick up some of that there "BBQ flavor", even when wrapped.....a favorite around here..... ;D

The taters turned out excellent! That was my first time trying them like this. Will do it again.  :D
My wife liked the chicken so much, she said it was the best that I had done so far.
Okay ... You know I'm pretty humble, but, that was nice to hear.  :D ;) 8)

Nice chicken Mac! Chicken leg thighs are one of my favorite cuts and usually the cheapest. I do them once a week. I haven't done the basement potato's in a while, but have been doing a vegetable instead with or without rice.
