A friend picked up a EE for me at a sale, is this a Weber triangle?

Yes, it is standard on Bar-B-Kettle models.  Below is a quote from the Master Touch History Thread.   http://weberkettleclub.com/history/the-weber-master-touch-history/

"BAR-B-KETTLE with 3 user installed daisy wheels, single front bowl handle (wooden), disk ash catcher with clips, black wheels, single center spoke triangle frame".

Bar-B-Kettle, the best of the modern grills IMO.

Top vent only has Weber, still the BBK?

Yes.  The Bar-B-Kettle model was not marked on the lid vent.  You might be thinking about the "Bar-B-Q-Kettle" that was stamped on lid vents in the 70's.  Confusing, but two separate marketing models.
