Is it considered acceptable to paint the triangle?  I have a faded black (now looks gray).  The triangle is in bad shape.  I was thinking of painting it to match the faded gray.

Nothing wrong with it. I paint them when I think the rust will look to old against the rest of the grill. Silver and black seem to look best.

Heyjude

I agree, repaint or buy new. Paint looks just as nice.  8)

I paint mine silver all the time
I've noticed that even when you sand all the rust off , it seems to come back pretty quickly
Painting stops it coming back
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

Hi Harris, nothing wrong with painting them. If you want something that's easily removable, you can use plastidip spray paint. The rubberized coating will pull or peel off when you desire but is durable enough for everyday use.

My Warriors triangle is doing that :(    I just painted up a spare triangle bright red and put it on my '79 redhead and it really pops. Nothing wrong with painting them at all.
