Klefiko and Xtapodi (Greek Goat and Octopus)
« on: May 26, 2018, 05:17:05 PM »
Tried my hand at a few Greek dishes today. Slow roasted goat (klefiko) and grilled octopus (Xtapodi).  The goat received several hours of apple smoke before covering for two additional hours. The octopus was boiled, marinated and then grilled direct over a very hot fire.

Good looking asparagus!
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Always loved calamari... thought the octopus would be similar. It was actually a bit different texture. My wife liked it. I wasn't a huge fan. The goat however was excellent. Very much like a beef pot roast.
