A nod to the Green Tavern Buger
« on: May 13, 2018, 03:04:41 PM »
I grew up in western NY and there was a Tavern along the Erie Canal known as GT's or the Green Tavern. They served burgers large as a plate and paper thin. Thirty years removed but the memories were the inspiration for today's cook.

Started by making some hard rolls on the Weber pizza mod. Pounded out some ground round and onions between layers of waxed paper to achieve the extra thin burger.

Fired up the 26" to swallow the 3 lbs of patties and had at it.  Result were decent but next time I will make the burgers a little larger... 10 oz rather than 8.  That will be a closer match to the plate sized burgers served at GT's!!

Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.
