If you have never had PSB, you aren’t going to taste the difference between having cooked it with stout or any other beer (or other liquid, for that matter). I’ve been thinking of making a riff off of it using pork roast. I’d use a cider for the liquid, keep the onion and maybe go red bell pepper with a garnish of a few peppadews to brighten the taste. It’s going to be delicious no matter what liquid you choose. Pick one and go for it! And let us know how it turned out!Sent from my iPad using Weber Kettle Club
Made it today with beef broth instead of Beer - turned out great! I didnt use jalapeños and the wife/daughter still thought it was too spicy. Will definitely make it again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Beef broth, while a miracle worker, is salt water.I exaggerate some, sure, but it could also be why they thought it was “spicy,” especially if no hot peppers or much black pepper was used.
