Hello there Amigos, saludos from Juarez Mexico
Look at what I found in El Paso TX
Seller had it in Face Book Market
I have been looking (still am) for a 18.5 or 22.5 WSM used... like the stories many of you have shared here in WKC im sure one day I will find one.
So back to my story... seller only had one picture and what I noticed is that it had a wooden handle (excited about the wooden handle) and it was 10dlls
So I rushed over the border and this is what i now have in my backyard =}
I have before and after cleaning pictures, hope all of you enjoy them
I did some investigation and this is what I have found: (please correct me if I'm wrong... I'm learning)
It has an N code on top vent so by the age chart this is a 1991
Smokey Joe Gold aka Outrider
It has a solid bowl with side vents
Three legs and a lid stand
I assume there is no need for charcoal grate as there is no bottom vent... (I'm I correct?)
I think my first cook will be good old fashion hamburgers for the familia!!!!

It is a SJG but not an Outrider. Those are 18.5" grills, also known as Smokey Joe Platinum.

Looks nice, but you still need a charcoal grate for airflow and so you don't burn out the bottom of the kettle. It sits one the thumbscrews that hold the legs on.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Thank you for your input!!
Do you know if the charcoal grate is easy to find? Any Smokey Joe 14.5 would fit?

@Firemunkee
Thx :)

Yes I think a regular SJ charcoal grate is what you want.

PotsieWeber

From personal experience, a regular SJ 14.5 charcoal grate will fit the 14.5 "Outrider".

According the SJ history writeup on this site, both the 14" & the 18" were also know as "the Outrider", but perhaps it is incorrect.

Yes I did get the name from the WKC Weber history link, it did mention Outrider or Smokey Joe Gold SJG

@addicted-to-smoke
