@ClubChapin has a good point.  Our oven was having ignition intermittent ignition problems & just very lightly sanding the electrode thing of the igniter got everything fired right back up with no problems.  You might want to try the same thing before buying a new igniter.

This cover fits well and has lasted me several season and is still in great shape (It even fits snug, but easily, with the 2016+ lid bale on my SSP.)

The igniter might just need a cleaning as others have said.  check that wire and ground locations are not corroded.  New ones are about $15 I think (They've gone up quite a bit here, last one I bought was under $11.)

Or, install an electric ignier.  I did this and it is really nice.

If you have the triangle and not the star handle, you likely can get the tank re-certified.

Worse case, a new tank is $50 (Ace/True Value used to carry these with free shipping to nearby store.)

I think you would need one of these to convert your regulator to acme:

@ClubChapin In the description, it claims to be chrome plated steel.  In the reviews, a number of people complained they are not stainless, but just chrome plated.  Have you bought it?

Here is $40 stainless grates:

KEEP THE SSP!! Add me to the list of clean the entire gas assembly, especially the pin hole. And, try Weber starter cubes. Fail proof in every way, no relight, no ashes, no forgetting to turn off gas (no food prep interruption). :)

No, I do not have it. I use the more expensive Weber SS and the ABC SS Easy Spin grates.

I presumed when it says 304 stainless that it is 304 stainless. Odd that it wouldn’t be. I guess proceed with caution. I would expect that one would be returnable for free if indeed it wasn’t 304.

I ordered this Ravenna cover that was referenced in this thread and it doesn't fit my SSP. It seems like a great quality cover but not long enough. Am I missing something here because others on the site in different threads have recommended the same cover. Would like to get the right Ravenna cover but open to other suggestions if the Ravenna won't work.

If I were you I would get rid of that old ssp... How far are you from Kansas? I could haul it off for ya! Oh and what color is it? Lol
