Anybody knows a  lid thermometer than can have a much higher reading than the weber thermometer? I was using a summit thermometer for the past  5 years but it finally failed. The summit thermometer has a max of 800F. Looking for something like 1000F-1200F. Thanks

I don't know but I like your style. I love getting the kettle as hot as humanly possible

You might want to consider Tel-Tru.
I have ordered from them, and they are excellent.

A little more $$, but their quality is second to none.

Q: How do you know something is bull$h!t?
A: When you are not allowed to question it.

You've probably already found these but there are some on amazon that go up to 1000. However they are under $10 so not sure how good they would be.

This exactly.  I put them in all my cookers.  You can get them in varying ranges and they are solid thermometers.

Thanks everyone!
I'll check  what Tel-Tru have to offer.

@Jules V.  - Here is the one I got for my SS Performer.  Should work for all Weber's where the thermo goes through the lid handle.  Not sure which Weber you have.  I have had zero problems with this one.

Thanks Mike. I orderer a couple of those  just have to find a thermo for the newer lids now which are more limited when it comes to choices. The ones i found have a probes that are just too long. Don't really want to torture my older kettles as i prefer my red meats at a very high temperature. My other option is to install a thermometer on the bowl just below the grate.

What you want is the BQ100. https://www.teltru.com/p-230-barbecue-grill-thermometer-bq100-1-34-inch-dial-and-213-inch-stem.aspx

@DirectDrive's thread outlines how to combine it with a Weber bezel, part # 63027. I don't remember if that's the bezel already used in recent Performers, if that's your target here.

It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Oh.

1000, really?

Are we making neapolitan pizzas?

Or welding small parts?

Be that as it may, all of my bimetal thermometers (Weber included) will "wrap around" the dial when heated beyond whatever the dial indicates. The other day, while cleaning out a mini WSM at full bore, with a Weber smoker's thermo in the lid, it read, uh, "7:00pm." I figured that was about 450 or so.

Possibly using as a forge to make custom knives?  :)
