From over here you wouldn't be able to tell from new.

So what did you wind up doing to them?
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

SmokeVide

Lookin' real good. Maybe season with oil and heat a few times before actually cooking on it.

I love my Craycort grates...

I got them and a Gen 2 Performer for free. Wasn't sure if they'd clean up. I went at them with a wire brush for hours then let them soak in white vinegar for 2 days. Attacked them again with wire brush, then into new vinegar for a day. Got a rip roaring fire going, oiled them up good and put them on the kettle. I did several hot cooks, then oil, then hot... probably 6 times. Cooked on them today, great sear marks on my skirt steak. They sure do get hot!
