Where do you guys get the super high heat resistant paint in cool colors?

The auto stores typically have paint that's good to 500 degrees. The home improvement stores like 1500+ but only black.

Cheers
Ken

Brake caliper paint goes to 900ºF.
Not tons of colors but not just black.
VHT is one brand.

VERY resistant to abrasion.

@Yardburner is correct.

Caliper paint to 900 degrees is probably hotter than most people can ever get a kettle (without modifying). It's also the most economical option unless you know someone that owns a paint shop/booth.

Another option is stove paint...but it comes in really bland colors that are usually flat.

WOW!  Over 30 colors including some metallics.
A bit spendy, but if it works as stated.
1100 degrees is a real plus.

use the high temp primer as a base

one time I painted over a drum that had not been stripped and I left the lid off at a comp and the lower third of the barrel burnt and so did the Stove Bright.

Good to know.
I'm about to restore 2 smaller offset
smokers we've had for years.
The right paint will make it worth
the time and effort.
One is a New Braunfels Hondo/Black Diamond
we've been using for at least 20 years.
The other is a Barbeques Galore Bar-B-Chef
picked up off CL for $80 2 years ago.
They're old enough to have been made
with decent steel and worth saving.
Got some mods in mind while we do.
