My Son texted me last Friday and said he saw a wooden Handled Smokey Joe at a yard sale...had "Funky" legs...of course I said snag it. He scored it for $3....heck yeah.
Upon further inspection, it's a B code, with a lot of rust damage...around the leg holes, and vent holes.
Threads on the leg tops were shot, so I cut them off a half inch, "turned" the diameter down on a belt sander and threaded them.
Big stainless steel fender washers inside and out and she STOOD PROUD!
Cleaned it up, reattached vents with stainless steel bolts and I have a tiny little relic of Weber history.

The plan is to give the handle and legs a coat of satin or flat clear to preserve. ..and put it on display...probably just gonna be a looker

Great job bringing that little guy back to life. I'm with you on it being a looker, I restored one and cooked on it once. Have a nice burn hole in my deck to remember that cook.
