Swineapple, anyone?
« on: July 09, 2017, 01:30:28 PM »
So we're all lazing around watching Chopped and one of the basket ingredients is a Swineapple. A rib stuffed pineapple wrapped in bacon.

Anyone ever made this? This is the first time I ever heard of it. Sounds like a waste of some good ribs - I'm thinking pulled pork would be the smarter way to go.

Yeah it sucks.  Flavors are great,  but textures and experience sucks.

That is interesting but I’m sure I couldn’t get over texture differences.

I have one of those square copper pans with the glass lid. Put it in the grill on a low heat, low as possible and everything will be real tender. Then take it out for a decent browning.

A note about the pan. It is $75 on tv with free s+h, but can be had at Riteaid for $49.99.

Pork loin, pine apple, rub, applewood. That's it.

Interesting. Would be unique textures but a good salty sweet combo.
