Bored, cheap NY Strip for 1

So I am bored tonight. Wife is out with her girlfriends, kids are asleep, and not much on tv. When I was at target today and picked up the igrill mini for $7.54, I checked out the meat. I know it's not premium beef, but sometimes I just don't care.

I picked up a ny strip that was on sale for $2.73. It had a sell by date of tomorrow. Just a simple kosher salt and fresh black pepper on both sides.

Got that chimney pumping. Threw a piece of hickory in there so I can get just a little bit of smoke.

Oh it's getting hot.


Dumped into baskets.

It's not a huge hunk of meat, hot and fast. 1:30 per a side.

And now for the cut.

Considering it was target beef, It was great. Just what I needed.

Can totally understand the boredom when the fam is gone. Damn good looking steak. Surprised you didn't throw it on that new cooker too. What do they call that model?

Thought about using the new grill but I didn't feel like swapping parts out to get it up and running tonight.
They called that model the performer silver. Now they call it the performer 22.

That steak does look delicious. Target by me only had 1 22" grate and a couple charcoal rakes.

I'm not picky. I always buy steak when I see it for a good deal. I like solo dinner nights once in awhile. I usually make wings that are way too spicy for a normal night.

Great looking steak and I love you yard and patio. Very nice.

Yup that's when I usually make a batch of really hot wings too.
Thanks. The patio and yard were completed this year. Before that, it was just uneven ground, lots of oak trees, and weeds.
