I now have a tough decision.  I have two now (this 78 and a Pat Pending 69-70) and have to decide which one to keep. I have way to many kettles and these babies are huge to store. Before I get hammered with requests of interest, the one I decide to let go of is already promised to @crowderjd .  Jason also saw the add and reached out hours after I picked it up, asking for me to agent it for him. I told him rest assured, he will be getting one of them.  Although it is not in as good of shape, I am leaning towards keeping "Misty", the 69-70 Pat Pending (on the left in the below photo). It is older and I like the wheels, small vent and bowl tabs and the higher darker fade. @Craig - If it was your decision, which would you keep and why? Anyone that would like to chime in, please do. You might add something I had not considered.

I like your twins beautiful!

@Craig - Here are some comparative differences between the two.

There is a distinct difference in the lids.  Just below the handle, the Pat Pending (69-70) has a flat, saucer sized area. Getting a photograph showing that flat spot on the Pat Pending was challenging.  It is easy to see in person but I had to find the exact lighting and angle for it to show up in a photo.  Is this where the term "Flat top" comes from"?

It is not present on the 78 and is more uniform in its curvature.

Looking at the bowl vents, they appear to be the same spacing.

Putting a tape measure to them I found a slight 1/2" difference in the vent spacing. This photo also shows that both have a flat spot in the middle of the bowl that only the Pat Pending has on the lid.

I'm gonna go help an ol' lady across the street and see if that gets me some of that karma.

Karen said you should be doing that anyway. (lol)  You know she's a lurker on the Forum.

Ok. Ask yourself, "what would Harris do?", then keep both.
"Why do you have so many bbq's?"....."I just like lookin' at em' sometimes....and I have enough purses and shoes"

Beautiful grills!
I like the higher fade on the left, but might be tempted to keep the '78 cuz it's my birth year
