My My, Hey Hey (Out of the RED)

My my, hey hey
Rock and roll is here to stay
It's better to burn out
Than to fade away
My my, hey hey.

Out of the black
and into the RED
They give you this,
but you pay for that
And once you're gone,
you can never come back
When you're out of the black
and into the RED

The king is gone
but he's not forgotten
This is the story
of a Johnny Rotten
It's better to burn out
than it is to rust
The king is gone
but he's not forgotten.

Hey hey, my my
Rock and roll can never die
There's more to the picture
Than meets the eye.
Hey hey, my my.

This one's named Johnny Rotten! undated 18" Bar-B-Q-Kettle

Rust had overtaken the leg sockets - so it became a prime candidate for a Cajun Bandit legged SJP mod!

After it got a new face lift, we here at the Bone Shack Skunkwerks - a subsidiary of Left Hand Smoke Enterprises the modding took a left.

Robbed the lid lock/bale and handle from a "DE" SJP and added some 3 hole daisy vents from a rustbucket WSM and a Cajun Bandit leg set.

Found a cheapo stainless steel platter that morphed into a Happy Cooker inspired internal ash pan.

New grates top and bottom along with a rescued external ash pan.

I'd like to thank @OGlenn and @ghost-grillah for answering my call for "Rustbucket RED 18's" in the Members Trading Post, and giving me the opportunity to RRR & resurrect some RED beauties from their graves!  I'm still looking for those RED rustbuckets- hit me up! Hey hey my my!

I dunno, handles on a 14" WSM center are tough ones to beat!

Very nice work! I like that HC ash pan you made. You might have a market here for producing those.

Looks great. Have you done that paint combo before on a bowl? How does it hold up over time?
