Weber or Not?

Well, I brought the old thing home and went to work. It was in rough shape!


I used a rubber mallet, some big pliers, and a block of wood to smooth out the dents and straighten the handles. The back bowl handle was smashed flat, and the sockets and handles are not aligned.



A spare undercarriage that I had in the bone pile got put to use, along with some old plastic handles.





The lid now fits nice and snug, and the vents are pretty good. I think that she will cook nicely. I am going to surprise my friend with it this weekend. I will try to get a picture of him cooking on it!

That would be a hell of a surprise! Awesome cleanup job. Looks like a totally different cooker.
