I've been meaning to post this but just now getting to it.

Friday:
I found a 22.5 redhead for $30 about an hour from me. I called the lady and said I could pick it up on Easter when I was driving down to see my family. Her response: "if its still here, it's yours". Apparently she didn't want to hold if for me!

Saturday: I could hardly take it! couldn't stop thinking about this beauty falling into the wrong hands. Tossing and turning at night.

Sunday: I called in the morning, no answer so left a message. Called back about an hour later and she says someone is on their way now to pick it up. I was super bummed but what could I do? Then about 20 mins later, she calls back and says she never gave the other person her address and can't get ahold of them so its mine if I want it! I couldn't get in my truck and get there fast enough, fearing she'd sell it out from under me.

Well I made it in time and scored this beauty

1980

Handle is in rough shape

Also came with this charcoal holder

All in all, a stressful but great score. And the kettle in great shape with one small chip in the porcelain! Now I need to break out the 0000 SW!

Thanks for looking!

Does anyone know anything about the charcoal holder? I've never seen one before. Rare?

Excellent score! The charcoal baskets are from the 70s and 80s, there pretty cool. I noticed the double rivet style handle has screws.. interesting. Havn't seen them that way before.

I was wonder about the screws on the handle too. The two pieces of the handle a pretty loose so I'm guessing the screws are some sort of fix. My buddy Tim has a B redhead too that has riveted handles to I'm thinking its not original...

What a thing of beauty.  Other colors keep trying to pull me away, but when I see that redhead standing there, well done-well done.

I've seen a few of them pop up on CL listings over the years. Not sure when they were made, or why they stopped.
