I was fortunate enough to win the
Countdown to 5K for WKC membership that
@Cellar2ful sponsored. The prize is a beautiful WKC logo handle, crafted by
@zavod44 from Asian satin burl. The description from Cellar2ful/Jim stated that wood, (Lagerstroemia Calyculata) is from Southeast Asia (Laos) - local name "Pood mai Puay", and that of all of the exotic wood handles he has had Brian make for him, this wood has the most beautiful grains.
It arrived on Saturday. Gorgeous handle. The problem? No clue which kettle to put it on. The answer? The red MT I scored this past September. Why the Red MT? Because Jim had unknowingly, 35 days before the contest ended,
told me to… Nice score. I have a twin to that redhead I bought new in 99. You will love the angry red color it gets when hot. Just need to put the new Zav wood on it when you win the countdown contest (lol).
Very familiar with the angry red... Lookin forward to firing her up! And looking forward to (apparently) winning the countdown contest!
I'm thinking this handle is much too nice to be a cooker. We'll see…
Thanks again, Jim!!
