My Red Q2200 is a great rig but as all newer Q2200s they heat up slowly and not hot enough.  I decided to upgrade to a larger regulator.  Found a regulator at Ace Hardware with 22" hose.  It's a perfect length.  Next I needed an adapter to attach the hose to the grill valve.  There is a one piece option made by Fairview (Part # 46-6A).  It is very difficult to get so I went for the two piece option.  I went to Lowe's and got these...

They worked out great.  I sealed the threads with a little bit of yellow gas tape.

Other options for these parts are...

Watts-  LFA-182, LFA-734

Brass Craft-  48-6-4X, 119-4-2X

Ace Hardware-  450235, 4501631

Here are pics of the parts installed...

Here I'm holding the old regulator for size comparison.

Now it heats faster and hotter.  Just what I wanted.  It's a great upgrade and a fun project.  Glad I did it.

Can you take a few more pics of how everything fits together?  I have a Q that I picked up to pass on but the regulator is shot and the replacement is like $40.  I know the generic ones are like $10-20.

Sorry it took so long to reply.  I took another pic to show how it fits together.  I removed the valve knob so you can get a better look.  Hope this helps.
