First Pork Butt
« on: July 24, 2016, 06:23:28 AM »
I've wanted to do one of these since I bought my 22" OTS. Finally I have the chance. 7.5 pound picnic roast. Removed the skin last night, seasoned with "Rub Your Butt" pork rub and Saran wrapped and refrigerated until 0500 this morning. While the coals were getting ready I unwrapped and put a pass of Webers Chicken and Rib seasoning then put it on at 0600. It ran between 250° - 275°. This is 3 hours in:

I opened the lid to rotate it and am now hungry suddenly.

It hit 195° at 1115. I wrapped it in tin foil and let it sit an hour then pulled. Just got done eating and I may be taking a nap before long. I'm now wondering why I waited so long to try this. This will definitely happen again.

Great job!  Pulled pork is one of my favorite things to cook.  You nailed it!
