So to keep a long story short, I bought a used Smokenator for a friend who is new to the Kettle world. He was having trouble with his ribs and keeping temp low.

I have never used this product so I thought I would test out our new competition rub on some ribs while learning to use it.

OK,  I admit,  I just wanted to play with his new toy!

It took a couple hours to figure out the vent settings to hold at 250f. But once I got those set, it was smooth sailing till the last glaze was applied!

I have to admit that I thought I would be moving the meat around to keep it away from the heat source.  But I actually didn't run into that problem at all. 

I would highly recommend this product to those that don't have access to a smoker.

Great pics! I've used my smokenator for about three years now and love it. You're right about having to dial in the vents. Once you get the vents dialed, it'll hold for hours.
