This morning I picked this kettle up off CL.  To the owners recollection it had never been used.  Í was surprised by a couple things.  Daisy wheels on the bowl.  What year did they stop doing that?  Black Triangle.  It definitely looks factory.  Garaged it's whole life.

Economy kettles came with daisy wheels and painted triangles for some time. Someone around here will know how long. But, wow, is that a nice looking kettle!
Growing family = growing kettles!

In 1983 the "One Touch" sweeping and venting system was introduced and was optional till year 2000.  I picked up 97 red just like yours about a week or 2 ago. Yours is in great condition. I was also intrigued with Daisy wheels, black triangle, and no whitewall wheels.  On my topic, I get excited and make all kinds of speculation on this particular model and make fool of myself.  You might want to check it out

This is what Craig said in my Topic- Redhead Score in Toronto
QuoteThat's a killer redhead! Yes Weber did still offer Daisy vent kettles in the 1990s known as the BAR-B-KETTLE. One bowl handle, black wheels. For some reason, the black BBKs had the economy triangle but the red ones got the full triangle albeit in black. I believe the red BBKs were available at premium retailers, i.e. Ace Hardware etc. I have a 1995 One Touch red with the same misting on it. Id love to find a red 90s Daisy wheeler like this one. I prefer Daisy wheelers. Oh and yes the daisies were user installed in the 1990s. Presumably to save on manufacturing costs since by then, the BBKs were a basic kettle.

" the red BBKs were available at premium retailers"  To me it sound like upgraded model. Mine came with flip up cooking grate and charcoal holders. One of the member has Gray with same features. Gray color is not very common.

Weber sold Daisy wheel kettles in the U.S. through 1999. The red BAR-B-KETTLEs from the 90s came with a full framed black triangle. The black BAR-B-KETTLEs came with the economy triangle. THAT is a nice red!
