Big thanks to whoever posted the text in our group. I really need to add some names to some numbers for reference.

Year should be 1970-1972.

This one is going to clean up nice. The seller picked it up from his deceased next door neighbor. The mobile homes were 70's and 80's vintage so my guess is he was the original owner. The handle is too nice for this thing to have been left out in the AZ sun.

The lid was dropped at some point on it's side edge like pretty much every grill I end up buying. Not too bad though. Straightened it out with a C Clamp, ball peen and punch this morning.

Can't wait to get this thing done. This one is definitely in better overall starting condition than it's yellow twin brother I refurbed last year.

Cheers

Craig

That's a nice lil' Cado! Look forward to seeing it in action!

I only use kettles with lid bales.

Nice!  It reminds me of the  $30 18" avocado in Denver still up for sale.

Just curious,  I could see punch and hammer being used but where did you use a C Clamp to straighten.

Thanks,

Does this help? Takes care of about 70% of the work getting everything aligned.

greenweb

Thanks! That really does help.

I was thinking of the lid dropped on the side on the perimeter of the rim, so it is out of round.  I had NOS SJ with rim damage that I put a pliers to correct or pull out dented in rim edge.  Did not work out to good as the porcelain around that area all flaked off.  I should of just put a plastic stand off from inside and hammered it out lightly.

Learning process.

Thanks everyone!
@greenweb The c-clamp would have damaged the porcelain as well. Lucky for me the porcelain is already gone in that spot lol
