Different technique for spares and baby backs?

Do you use a different technique for smoking spares and baby backs?

I've never cooked baby backs and would like to try. For spares, I cook unwrapped and wasn't sure if this would work for baby backs.

Whatcha y'all think?

Pretty much the same for both, although I've found that babies cook a little faster.

Cook'em til their done!  Like BW said, basically the same process just cooks a little faster.

3-4 hours instead of 5-6. I have stopped wrapping my ribs, to me it's a highway to mush town and I like a little bite.

I find that spares cook better at 275F whereas babybacks are better at 225-250F. I can't really explain why

Since the thickness varies with them a lot, cook times vary greatly as well. I've had thick loin back ribs take as long as 3 lb St. Louis ribs. We prefer to foil em.

Spare ribs are more forgiving than baby backs because spares have more fat.  Like Gummi said watch the temp on BB ribs.  Also BB ribs can dry out if you are not careful.  I prefer spares myself.

Me, too.  Especially now that St. Louis cuts are readily available.

Back ribs don't need to cook as long as spare's. I find about 1hr less.  I like taking the ribs to around 195*. Tender but with a slight bite to them.
