First try was a good success: homemade crust, simple pepperoni pizza.

Nicely done!  They are a fun accessory.  How did the lid bale rollers hold up??  They tend to melt with the higher heat ...  ??? :-\

So far, so good. No signs of heat damage. Temps did hit 750, though.

@jfbincypress  When I got my C&B Perf the former owner had used it to make Pizza.  The end result was "major" bowl crazing around the entire circumference and melted rollers (welded right onto the bowl).  Long story Short  ...  CL a 22" BLACK OTS and dedicate it as your Pizza Kettle  ...  save that beautiful blue for your lower heat cooks.                 SJ

Great to know, I planned on using my CB performer for pizza at some point

Interesting...I have a 22" MBH I guess I could use.

My pizza kettle is my first 22, an H code red - a gift from my Dad. I've had it over 900 making pizzas many times and no crazing. I've maxed out the Kettle Pizza thermometer and my infrared that is supposed to go to 1000 degrees. I think that the crazing is a combination thing of drunks, dogs and demons dumping over the kettles - then getting the high heat. And I don't allow demons at my house. My H black 22 is the Smokenator kettle and that's probably worse with coals mounded against the sides of the bowl and it doesn't have crazing. The Weber porcelain enamel is tough stuff.

And jfbincypress that is a good looking pizza. How was the bottom of it?

That pizza looks great. Never used the PizzaQue but now want one.
Wife said "No more GRILLS in this house!" So I bought a 2nd house!

The bottom was crunchy but not burnt, and cooked nicely. I did use a little too much cornmeal, so I'll adjust that next time. The use of the bread flour definitely made for a crispier crunch...I liked it a lot.

I have been looking a the pizzaque for a while... glad to see it works and much cheaper then the pizza kettle.  as much as I make pizza may be worth the buy. thanks for the post
