Playing with Turds
« on: November 24, 2015, 12:24:13 PM »
My go to is normally cream cheese, imitation crab and Tony Chachere's Bold. Decided to mess around a bit today. First up, cream cheese and raspberry preserves.

Next up, cream cheese and chorizo.

There is also a couple with garden veggie cream cheese. They missed their moment with the camera.

Cream cheese and chorizo sounds awesome!  Have you tried mixing in some brown sugar and finely diced onions in the cream cheese yet?  that is my go to, and topped by a cheddar lil smokey before wrapping.

Now that I have let the raspberry preseveres idea marinate while typing this, that sounds pretty damn amazing as well!

Looks like some great experiments, great idea to run them next to the vortex!

The chorizo were our favorite. The raspberry, a close second. The garden veggie didn't suck, but probably not on the menu going forward.

Just baskets, but a vortex is on the wish list.

Those look really tasty. I seem to stuck on a loop of cream cheese and Lil' Smokies. I do change the cheese, my current favorite is "Horseradish Cheddar Pub Cheese."

My last batch was cream cheese, shredded chicken, cheddar cheese and some sautéed bell peppers and onion. My favorite turds to date. I like the thought of the raspberry filling may have to give those a go.

I like to mix it up with some blue cheese every once in a while. If you don't like strong blue cheese flavor you could mix it into some cream cheese.

Chorizo is really good in turds. I've also had good luck precooking the chorizo and sprinkling it between the cream cheese and bacon.
