Pizza on the performer using a plate setter
« on: August 11, 2015, 07:06:07 PM »
I had picked up a plate setter off of CL for a medium big green egg. I figured it would work well to get the pizza higher in the kettle and also work as a deflector for the direct fire underneath. I did use a pizza stone on top of it.

Pizza dough was bought from trader joes. We decided to pre-bake just a bit before putting on the toppings.

Nice day this past Sunday for cooking

First one done pre-baking.

Another prebaked

After some toppings, first on just came off

Crust was nice

Ended up cooking several smaller sized pies. This was the last one.

Pies were a hit. Not bad for my first time

Your pizza looks great.

I use the same setup in my kettle for pizza and flatbreads. It does work well.

The lid temp was around 550. Next time I will use only lump. Used a mix of briquettes and lump (approx 1.5 chimney)

Thanks Dave - it does work well. I do want to try to bake some bread with this setup.

Nice job on the pizza, looks like you nailed the crust. I like your choice in dogs. We've  got 2 goldens.
