Father's Day menu
« on: June 16, 2015, 06:50:39 AM »
So what is everyone cooking for Father's Day? Or are the wife and kids going to cook for you?

I will be having my family over to my house. I will be doing all the good except for the dessert. There will be:

Turds
Dill, garlic, feta, cream cheese spread
Mac n cheese
Corn bread
Country ribs
Chili dogs
Coleslaw
Potato salad
Homemade pickles
Chipotle bacon cupcakes

Pops always liked ribs, so I'll likely do something along those lines..... ;D

Are you doing "smoked" mac 'n' cheese?

    Covered, damper-controlled cooking.....IF YOU PLEASE !!!

Go kind of lite if you do & stir gently a little more than you would ordinarily before adding any crust or topping...... 8)

Great success w/ this recipe:
http://www.cooking-outdoors.com/smoked-bacon-mac-n-cheese-recipe/

I crushed spicy "cheese it" crackers in a zip lock instead of bread crumbs

Enjoy

This weekend will be Father's day combined with my Mom's 21st birthday cookout. On my grilling list is:

Ribs
Chicken Wings
Burgers
Hot Dogs
This is a fairly cheap hobby when you consider the time  with family and friends and how many meals are created.

I was hoping to get a cook in but it looks like thunderstorms both Saturday and Sunday.

The wife went to see gran kids so I am staging it. Hmmmmm, bachelor meals. I have been thinking about what to cook. Stuff she may not normally like. One day will be my famous chicken wings. First I marinate them overnight in Stubbs chicken marinade and then  I put them on the kettle for a cold smoke and then transfer them over to my gas grill to crisp up. Great for left overs. Oh, some twice bake potatoes as well.

Indy82z, go out and get a 10x10 tent. You need to cook.
