Firing up the RED Wood Dale........

The kids and friend asked me to cook them some chicken (threw on a steak too).  I told them to pick the grill.   After about 10 minutes of uncovering grills they settled on the '58/'59 Red Wood Dale  aka "Big Tomato"....   Sweet old grill and simple cook.....

Wood Dale refers to Wood Dale, IL where the kettles were made from 1958-1964. They have the metal lid handles.

So when I hear wood dale, we're talk'n vintage. Gotcha.  Mine is an "O" and says Palatine Ill. Early 90's I think.
