26 on a lazy Sat afternoon
« on: May 31, 2015, 05:12:01 AM »
Had some friends over. Loaded up the 26 with ABT's, chicken wings, sausages, and dogs.

Then some hamburgers

Wings came out nice. They and the ABT's were cooked indirect with a chunk of mulberry.

ABT's were good too

People were eating stuff up as fast as I pulled it off. It was a nice time with good friends.

Looks like a splendid time was had by all. So much real estate on the 26ers, especially with the warming rack added, nice cook!

That looks grate....esp. the 1st one with the Funsters in the background !!!!

Question, do you ordinarily place items on the upper rack to start out cooking, or start on the main level & finish there?

Suppose it make some difference as to what was being cooked ?

Just to hazard a guess, it seems foods were moved around as needed. In the first pic many of the same things are on lower and on the warming rack.

The warming rack should have been nearly as hot as right over the coals. You wouldn't get a sear per se but you would be able to "catch up" foods that needed it.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

You are right. I started ABT's on the warming rack. They were ahead of the ones on the grate. They were swapped midway through the cook along with a few wings so everything cooked evenly. The warming rack is a nice accessory.

I loaded up the grate and rack to start. The ABT's started on the rack rendered faster than those on grate.
