Father Son Cookout...Pictures
« on: May 31, 2015, 04:16:36 PM »
Well the kid and I went up to our place in Wisconsin this weekend and had a great cookout. Wife stayed at home was going to make it but just couldn't this time. The boy wanted chicken so chicken is what we had.

Now had to decide what grill do I use??? And dammit it's raining! :'(

Start with the chicken, Some Weber beer can seasoning, and Stubbs chicken, with EVOO

Now some onion, Cut, Salt, Pepper, butter, and Yes BACON partially cooked

Well, well, well, what do I cook with?

Onion on the grill about 45min, now time for the chicken and some more fire. It stopped raining ;D

and now thru the miracle of time... I heard that before  ;)

Well Chicken turned out great, and the onion was also very good, but needed to take it out of the tinfoil and put direct on grill about 5 min per side over direct heat to get a crunch on the BACON

Overall had a great time with the kid :)

Good looking cook.  I'm looking forward to father-son cooks in the future.  I'll have to try that onion some time.

Fantastic! My guy's still tiny, but I'm so looking forward to these father-son times. Where's your place in WI?

Looks like a great meal! I am also looking forward to father-son and father-daughter cooks. I'm working on my 11 year old. I need to help cure her fear of getting burned from the grill. My son on the other hand wants to hug a hot Weber....

Nice place and grills you got there too! [emoji106]🏻

@Craig Get her into cooking on the kettle. This is my son at 11 cooking on a Weber gasser "Weber Spirit E210" In this picture he is doing foot long hotdogs for him and 8 friends. Now he is really good, been 4 years since this picture but he can do shrimp, steak, lobster, to name some of the more difficult foods to not over cook, but he still only uses the gasser when his friends come over.
