Gettin' Dizzy - First Time Roti Chicken!

So here it is - my first stab at a Roti Chicken!
I recently started using the Smoke on Wheels Pork Injection but was told the regular BBQ Marinade was also just as good if not better so it gets the call tonight. Essentially I just dried off the chicken completely, stuffed the cavity with a few lemons and some of the Weber Roasted Garlic and Herb spices. Next I smothered it completely in the Marinade for about 20min or so while I fired up the performer. Once the chicken was on the spit and over the coals I shook on a bit more of the Weber spice blend.
Onion, Carrots, Mixed Potatoes, Garlic Cloves and some chicken broth:
Here's the bird about to go on:
My rig for the evening - C&B SS Performer:
Found a place locally that re-certifies the little 5lb tanks for $30 including a fill - now I have 10 more years with no hassles at the gas station:
Now we're getting somewhere!
Tonight's feast consisted of the Chicken and Roasted Veggies, Sweet Potato Casserole with Sugar Cinnamon Walnut Topping, Yorkies, and some real tasty Mushroom Gravy:
The Casserole... This was so insanely good! it tastes like candy and could / should be served as dessert
We were both REALLY happy with how things turned out tonight! The skin had a perfect amount of crispiness to it and the flavour of the marinade/seasoning/lemons was excellent! ... and the Roti is just plain fun to use
Thanks for looking and here's your plate...
Hope everyone has a great weekend,
Six

It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

@Idahawk
They did. That must be required in order to re-certify as the one they replaced still looked new as well. They then re-stamp/melt a new expiry date into the top flat portion of the tank so you're set for another 10yrs.
Just dropped off my other two 5lb'ers to have the same service done. The old flat back tanks (as you prob know) are the only ones that fit properly into the top SS cart cutout for the tank valve.

Great looking feast there! I love my rotisserie too, in my opinion it's the best way to cook a whole bird. The skin always comes out great, and like you said it's just fun and easy to do.
I also like to stuff the cavity with onions or lemons, and I also like to leave the gizzards and neck in there too, figure it kind of bastes the bird from the inside out.
Good show!
