Pork butt steaks
« on: May 10, 2015, 01:29:17 PM »
We had a busy day yesterday, working in the garden, and doing some running around.  My wife and I ended up eating late, after our little guy went to bed.

We had stopped earlier in the day to one of the local farms that raise and butcher local livestock.  We picked up a couple pork steak among others.

I started cooking after 9pm.

I was able to try out the gas assist for the first time on my new performer and the coals were ready in practically no time at all

The pork steaks were liberally seasoned with a homemade rub based on the dinosaur bbq basic red rub.

The steaks cooked indirect for an hour, then slathered in bottled bbq sauce and cooked direct for about 10 minutes.   Left over chili was served on the side, and Corn on the cob was put on the grill while the pork steaks rested.  (No pics of the corn)

Here's your plate.  Thanks for looking.
