welcome to the weber club, once you realise the extreme genius and versatility of the weber kettle, you have entered the dark side.

I love out BBQing friends with high dollar pellet burners
If we were meant to grill with gas then the garden of Eden would have had a pipeline

You are definitely a Texan with the Mesquite! Sometimes I feel like the only person living outside of Texas who likes it!

Nah, I love the stuff, I have planted a bunch of trees so I can harvest them every year, I keep a lot around.

I do agree that mesquite is one of those taste most do not get, so if I have someone over I use it sparingly, however me, the wife and the kids when they come over feel that just like garlic, there may never be to much mequite

Mesquite seems a little strong to some. My family really likes it as well. Don't get me wrong, a good oak or pecan is good too. esp apple wood! But mesquite is very distinct.

Apple, yes my other go to wood, I have a place in the mountains where they grow a lot of apples about 60 miles from me and I pick up a lot of apple wood every pruning season

I also like to try to get wine barrel staves, but those are getting harder and harder to get.
