Gourmet Breakfast
« on: December 27, 2014, 09:53:58 AM »
Family in town this weekend and thanks to ICARRY's Secret Santa gift (Pork Roll ) I decided it was time for some breakfast on the kettle. And perfect timing as I received a 21.5" cast iron griddle from a family member for Christmas. Of course I had to bring the Gourmet out of winter hibernation for this occasion. Just some fried eggs and the pork roll sliced into patties. It was a huge hit. Thanks again for the meat, ICARRY!

"LIKEAGLOVE"

Plated with my wife's homemade monkey bread.

With the vent holes along the perimeter, the griddle breathes beautifully inside the kettle.

Thanks for looking.

That first shot is cool, I like the shadows going on in the snow and the lighting in the smoke. Great cook and cooker!

Please share more details on the cast griddle!

604, I ordered it from a local distributer that ships pork roll all across the country. They freeze it, put it in special insulated shipping cartons and use 2 day priority mail.

Ok folks! I was just tipped off from a trusted source as to the origin of my CI griddle grate. It is part of the Globe Cafe Outdoor Cooking System. They are no longer in business. These were an off brand gas assist Performer of sorts. The griddle originally came with these.

Check out what's chilling on the lower shelf...

And again... Mine NOS (well not unused anymore) and fits a 22 perfectly.

Being an inch and a half deep I think this will also make for a great pizza maker too as well as a shallow wok of sorts. This is my new favorite accessory! :)

Craig - love the egg rings - perfect for egg mcmuffins!

That griddle is way cool and well-engineered with the air vents to let the fire breath, pivoting handles, and the slope to keep food in place.  Sounds like it is a pretty rare item to find unfortunately.

There is an alternative for those of you who want a round griddle.  Lodge makes a round griddle with a slight lip on it.  The actual cooking surface is just a bit smaller, but is still a good size for a 22".  $39 on amazon prime
