when you have to add coals to you add lit or unlit thanks, jd

@jd

That's a question that goes beyond just turkey......

For me, if I need the temp to come up, or come up quickly, then lit coals....

If it doesn't need to get hotter, quicker, but the burn needs to last for a longer time, then unlit is the plan....

I hope that makes sense how it's described ?

You bet......I've also taken to trying to use Stubb's or other natural binder briquettes if I'm loading UN-lit, Kingsford's is OK, but will add a little of it's 'additives flavor' into things if added dry....
