First x cooking a bird on the 26er



She's on with 2 water pans sitting at 300 10 minutes in

Stuffed her with potatoes and bell peppers


Let's see how this goes

Delicious, I made a smoked a turkey last year for thanksgiving and it was amazing. Some of the best turkey ever.

Looks are deceiving

I lost a lot of temp probably because of using water pans which was a mistake.

To low and slow at first and it turned out with the texture of a rubber chicken.

I guess it's good that I made a test run prior to Thanksgiving

The wife was not impressed.

Nothing wrong with a practice run. I over smoked my first bird and the stuffing crapped out of the middle...

i've made the same mistake for most of the summer with some of my breaded chicken so don't feel bad. 

keep at it, good results await. 
I only use kettles with lid bales.
