Grabbed this guy last night.  A coworker in the area grabbed it for me this morning and said other than one ding on the lid it's in great shape.  This puts me one step closer to my dream of a competition BBQ team or one step closer to divorce.  Both would have their perks.   8)

Weber Smokey Mountain smoker - $40 (cedar rapids)

Does need a new grate and there is a quarter sized dent in the hood but it suited me for years.

Glad to see one of us got it.  I was first to call the guy and was on my to get it and then called to cancel.  As good a deal as it was I just don't have the room and my wife's getting a bit pissed off with my recent acquisitions.  New kettles are easier to hide.  As long as they're the customary black, she tends not to notice when I add to the herd.  ;)

Yeah, I hear you there.  At that price I decided it was going to be easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

I won't get it from my coworker until next Thursday which gives me this weekend to rearrange the garage and set up a good place to hide it.    :-[

Anyone got an extra 18 WSM cover they can donate to help in the cover up?   ;D

I saw that on the brethren site. I am glad you got it. Damn it's clean. Congrats.

No Gummi, it's not.  I've been perving over the WSM's for 4-5 years.  Apparently my wife had heard enough and got me a 22 for my birthday this past March.  I know...I know...amazing woman!  Within a week I picked up a Maverick ET-732 and a Pitmaster IQ110 and I couldn't be happier with the whole setup.

I have a goal of entering some local BBQ comps Spring 2015 so I was looking to pick up a used 18 WSM to go with the 22 off CL sometime this winter.  Figuring then they would be priced the cheapest.  With this one for $40 bucks, I had to move up my timeline.  Couldn't pass up that kind of deal as I didn't figure I would find one any cheaper.

Hopefully the wife remains amazing later next week when it shows up in the garage!

That's an awesome deal.  Hopefully my dream 26er will come along like that.
