Hey all, I am in need of your expertise. I am trying to get some handles for my father in law for his kettle, (yes I know, Kettle, singular) any how, I had his wife do some covert operations and check out his grill for me.(He is in Montana, I am not) Well she came back with intell that to me doesn't figure. She reported that It had the handle on top and the one on the bowl were wood,(I get that) but also said that they were double screw. I have no pictures to go by so I am not sure if it was the previous owner that tried to mess with it( he picked up in a ditch) or what. so my question is, Did Weber make a kettle that was a double rivet on the lid and bowl ?( Not a double handle either)
single handle on kettle.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Trying for Christmas.

Thanks,
Ken

Don't think that's ever been the case originally.....

I went out & checked & I have an 18 & a 22 that somebody added in an extra screw or bolt to the BOWL handle, as they are usually the ones that start coming loose 1st....

I would get one of each, worst case he could drill a center hole for the bowl handle....
IF it's truly the case that they're both double rivet, it would probably be a first !!!!

I am pretty new at this, but that's kinda what I was thinking.
Thanks Buckie.

Weber did make them with double rivets very early in 1981 (C) but them changed to single screw sometime that year. Hope that helps.

I'm sorry, I misread the post. As far as single bowl handle, I've only seen the single screw type. I think Weber went single bowl handle for the Bar-B-Kettles (Daisy Wheel kettle) when One Touch was introduced.  I'd have to see it to be sure. Maybe order both and either way, you've got some extra handles then.
