Reilly, do you happen to have any brochures from the seventies showing several different kettles including a lime green one? I heard there is one out there.

Hogsy

Thanks for those pics
Now it's time to clean her up and fire her up

I've got 1962,1963, 1972,1973 catlogs.  The colors offered are red, yellow, green (sage, avocado) copper mist, chestnut-copperton, glen-blue and black.

I can scan the catalogs to a USB drive and send it someone who can post it.

Let me know.

Here's one I dont have, a 1968 found on line

That would be great if you could scan them
I'm pretty sure everyone would be interested in having a perve at them

Finished cleaning the old girl up this week
Sanded back all the rust on the leg assembly and resprayed it, replaced the whole gas assembly and all the nuts and bolts with SS, new wheels , new burner
I pulled the whole thing apart and cleaned and polished every last inch of it and was pretty pleased when it kicked over so easily
A big thank you to Brian for sourcing the spare parts and to Ed for posting the users manual.
Was thinking of keeping as a looker not a cooker but couldn't resist trying it out
So I knocked up some pizzas on it tonight
Anyway here's some pics

Tried to get the pizza sitting as high as I could
Charcoal rails, trivet then stone gives me about 80mm clearance from the top of the lid

Kids pizza first... Of course

Shortly followed by the adults pizza

Pizzas turned out great , crispy base the whole way through, toppings nice and crispy and it was pretty cool cooking on a grill that's nearly as old as me
This thing gets hot fast..... And I can see why they changed the handle and lid design. After about 5mins the handle was scorching hot.
I reckon this gasser could put a mean sear on a steak but for now its my go to pizza oven

You done good, as they say around here.

What's the contraption holding the swing rails of the cooking grate, must be sturdy to hold that pizza stone.

Duke

That's a really impressive pizza! I new that old gasser would "knock them off"! Any idea how hot it ran?

There can't be too many other gassers that old, that look and work as good as this.  I'm sure glad I wa able to get a hand on those parts.  You really put them to good use..

Thanks for the pointer here Hogsy!

My faded black one isn't going to be as pretty as yours, but for $25 US with a free tank of gas, I'll enjoy it! Just thinking about it, I now have two from about the same time - this 'new' one, and my original black kettle we purchased new back in the late seventies.

Just some fabricated lid tabs, replacing the rusted kettle fasteners and baffle, paint and elbow grease, I think I'll be making some fine looking pizzas!

Is there actually a source for some parts?

Thanks again,      -Rick
Dude, relax your chicken.
