Weber 26” kettle question
« on: March 12, 2018, 04:40:31 AM »
Hi guys,

Thanks in advance. Would a 26” kettle be big enough to fit a 2kg (approx 5lb) roast plus veg (potato, pumpkin, carrot and onion) for 4? I’m trying to work out if it’s worth upping my game from a 22” to a 26”. Anyone with ideas on how to get all this on one grill would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

David

I like having two 22 inch kettles. This way you have better control of the heat on verious items.

26 is the way and the light. Tons of room for indirect or whole meals. A 26 and a 22 is a great set up.

Yes, you will have plenty of room on the 26'er.  Get one Dave, you will not regret it.

A 26 and a 22 are a fabulous tool set.  Ok, maybe a handful of 22s

I’ve owned every size Weber at one point or another (including a Ranch).

I tried the two 22” method for a while. It worked ok. Everything changed when I got my 26.” I truly love cooking on it.

You won’t be sorry.

I'm pretty thrifty with my charcoal and the 26er is a big phat fuel hog when it comes to daily cooking, especially with a single fire grate.

I enjoy using it periodically but most of the time I use it for covered storage & light prep.

No problem cooking enough meat & potatoes for 4 on a 22. An 18 will do it too but it takes more grill skill.

you can probably fit it on a 22....depends on how much of the veggies you put on, however.....  & I agree with @Joetee , two 22s are better than one.
I like my Kettles like my coffee....strong and black.
