First wings!
« on: May 07, 2017, 02:56:08 PM »
First time with wings on the Performer. Circle method with hickory on the grate in the middle. Half salt n pepper rub other half special home made rub. Then half in a spicy BBQ and half in sweet/spicy BBQ   They were good but my vortex comes next week and hope to get them a little crispier with it.

There's a lot of different ways to cook wings. Common denominator - always good.

Nice one.

I think I learned not to sauce them on the grill. But I was very happy with my first try. Can't wait for the vortex to help with crispness. How long do I cook them around the vortex?

Sunnyjim: What size Votex did you order as my Medium Size Votex arrived here last week and I plan to do a wing cook in the next couple of weeks?

I usually cook them for 20 minutes with just the rub/seasoning on them and then another 20 after I've sauced them.

Have fun ! ! !

I've done it both ways and prefer to toss in sauce hot off the grill in a big ss bowl. Saves a mess in the grill too.
